Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins, and Kate Bosworth were among the superchic who gathered to fete the start of Summer's most fashionable music festival at Mulberry's Coachella Fire Pit kickoff party Friday night. Held in a private garden at the Parker Palm Springs Hotel, the soiree featured a DJ set by British band The Vaccines, as well as an acoustic set by Kasabian. Guests — including Sky Ferreira,Emma HillAtlanta de Cadenet, and Teen Vogue'sAndrew Bevan — munched on minisliders and sipped spiked lemonade while lounging in the garden, which, in reference to Mulberry's Fall 2012 collection, was decorated with a Where the Wild Things Are theme. An inside look at the exclusive event, right here in the slideshow.

It's hard to believe that just two short years ago, Lindsey Wixson was a 16-year-old headed to prom. Granted, she had already been photographed forVogue and was headed to the dance in a custom-designed Jason Wu dress, but still — how quickly time flies. With this year just as busy as the last — this past season alone, Wixson walked 31 shows and appeared in Spring 2012 ad campaigns for everyone from Mulberry to Just Cavalli — the Wixson whirlwind shows no signs of stopping.
So, in honor of everyone's favorite gap-toothed, rose-pouted Kansan — who today goes from barely legal to legal, just — we've rounded up 18 of our favorite Wixson street-style shots and backstage candids. Happy birthday, Lindsey — here's wishing you another stellar year.

Richard Burbridge‘s latest over the top story for New York Times Magazine celebrates the season’s candy colored dresses & bold fruit prints, with a festive food meets fashion series of images. The idea is simple – take the plum prints on a Dolce & Gabbana dress and serve them with a side of fruit salad for good measure – but the magic is all in the execution. Robbie Spencer‘s styling on this story is nothing short of amazing – though we do wonder if he was the one picking up the cart at Whole Foods in addition to selecting the stellar designer looks. Hanne Gaby Odiele and Julia Nobis bring the concept to life with animated posing and the occasional taste of sweetness.
The story got us thinking about all the other time’s we’ve seen fashion and food collide. Though we prefer our meals on a plate something has to be said for the unexpected art that comes about when you re-imagine what every day items can do. Have a trip down memory lane and see some of our  favorite food meets fashion combos.
There is a Dolce & Gabbana dress hiding beneath all that produce.

Even if you didn’t notice the lobsters, this would be an epic shot.

Viktor & Rolf‘s decadent designs get coated in candy – very fitting!

Artist Sung Yeon Ju‘s Wearable Foods series (2009-2010) featured clothing crafted out of materials like banana peels and slices of eggplant.

2010 Kirsi Pyrhonen wore lettuce as a fashion statement in images by Magnus Unnar for the Barneys holiday catalog.

Who can forget that meat dresses Lady Gaga wore on the red carpet & the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan in 2010 – also designed by Sung Yeon Ju!

And now for something you can actually put in your mouth. How about some Chanel & Christian Louboutin cupcakes? Prop stylist Lisa Edsalv and photographer Therese Aldgard collaborated on these and we’re petitioning Aaron de Mey Karl Lagerfeld to get them in stores.
Feeling crabby? Miu Miu's new batch of sparklers are just the thing to put a little lightness in your step. In stores now, the whimsical new sandals are inspired by sea creatures — starfish, sea horses, crustaceans — and come all glammed up in the label's signature shimmer: pink crystals, amethyst, micro-studs, and glitter. The super-walkable flat and kitten heels, priced from $695 to $890, are also entirely handmade. See them all, right here.

Not even the far-off prospect of chilly weathercan stifle Opening Ceremony's sense of whimsy. For their Fall 2012 collection, Humberto Leon and Carol Kim served up even more of the quirky, feminine pieces that have become their calling card. The use of metallics is back, with copper paillettes echoing the sparkle of the super-shiny silver pieces the brand used in its Spring 2012 collection. They're paired with lots of textures, like knitwear pieces that range from nubbly to open weave, fur, leather, and tweed. But perhaps most interesting of all is a quilted Winter coat, which is sure to keep whoever wears it warm by the time Fall's first cold fronts come around.
