BEAUTY BYTES: THE VERSACE LOOK

When you think of the Versace beauty, there are a few catchphrases that come to mind and smoky eyes are probably pretty high on the list. Using the brand’s heritage and signature look as inspiration Tom Pecheux created the ultimate statement eye for the Versace for H&M show. With the combo of MAC’s matte black Carbon shadow and silver loose pigments, Pecheaux crafted an edgy look that was accentuated by bleached brows. Stars like show opener Natasha Poly worked the look along with lengthy extensions by Orlando Pita and sleek leather bandanas.
The lovely Bianca Balti named the newest face of L’Oreal – this marks the second major cosmetics company to sign a model spokeswoman in recent months. Are cosmetics giants starting to embrace models again after years of relying on actresses?
Speaking of which, Emily Blunt is the new face of YSL Opium following in the footsteps of Sophie Dahl, Kate Moss & Karen Elson.
Makeup artist Alex Box is one of our favorites and her innovative line Illamasqua enters the fragrance realm with a truly inventive scent, Freak. The captivating and gothic blend features notes that wouldn’t seem out of place in a witch’s cauldron. Black davana, belladonna, poison hemlock, datura, queen of the night, frankincense, oud and myrrh are nice individually, but together they’re fantastical. Be one of the first to try it at select Sephoras – it launches this week!
W Editors share their beauty secrets - who is addicted to Rodin Olio Lusso, who is lucky enough to get their haircut by Garren himself!?
20 years after launching 10 revolutionary nude lipcolors at Bergdorf Goodman, Bobbi Brown is still a force in the fashion and beauty industries – no wonder she’s the toast of Paris!
FYI The almost black but not quite nail polish used at the show (and on the nails of the gorge Daphne Groeneveld) is Deborah Lippmann’s Dark Side of the Moon.
